So, just how influential are our buying choices? The answer is simple: incredibly. We just don’t embrace that power.
Being authentic in graphic design means creating work that’s original, true to our own values, and aligned with the project’s core message and identity. It’s a high bar. How do we do it?
Creating authentic branding means building a brand that is true to its core values, mission, and vision. So these have to be defined. Authentic branding isn’t about chasing trends or projecting an image that doesn’t align with the company’s true nature. It’s about reflecting what the company genuinely stands for, and communicating that consistently across all platforms.
Design is a creative endeavor, often associated with boundless imagination and limitless possibilities. Yet, paradoxically, some of the best designs in history have emerged from restrictions and limitations.
Embracing sustainability in design not only benefits the environment and society but also enriches the design process itself. It challenges designers to think creatively, embrace local resources, and create products that are not only visually appealing but also ethical and environmentally responsible.
During my trip back home to Scotland this year I went rummaging through old art work, work which my wonderful parents allow me to keep in the family attic. I do this sporadically when I go home, revisiting the young creative me, and honestly I’m almost always inspired by her.
